An effort to fill the void of adequate educational materials focused on making providers aware of other means of Pain Management, David Rosenblum, MD creator of NRAP Academy’s PainExam Project is proud to offer an opiate sparing pain management education program that equips healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to manage pain without relying on opioids.

Studies have shown that there are many benefits to opiate sparing pain management. Patients who are treated with non-opioid pain management techniques often experience less pain, less nausea and vomiting, and shorter hospital stays. Additionally, opiate sparing pain management can help reduce the risk of opioid addiction, which can lead to better long-term outcomes for patients.

Our opiate sparing pain management course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to manage pain effectively without relying on opioids. Our curriculum includes content focusing on non-opioid pain management techniques, interventional pain management, and patient education. We also have contacts for educates providers on opiate medication’s for the occasion in which they may become necessary. But it is not the focus. We also offer case studies and hands-on training to ensure that participants are equipped with practical skills that they can use in their day-to-day practice.
Our non-intervention program is an online program consisting of multiple choice questions. Is found in the PainExam Complete subscription.  Institutional memberships are available for comprehensive training programs and cheaper rates.

Our interventional training programs consist of ultrasound guided regional anesthesia and interventional pain techniques that utilize:

  • anesthetics
  • steroids
  • biologic
    • platelet rich plasma
    • bone marrow aspirate,
  • ablative therapies
    • cryoablation
    • thermal ablation (radio frequency ablation)
    • chemo ablation
  • peripheral neuromodulation.

Our opiate sparing pain management program is unique in that it is tailored specifically to the needs of healthcare professionals. For example, when emergency medicine physicians attend our programs, we focus on ensuring that they understand how to safely perform the erector spinae plane block in the emergency room, the femoral nerve block or facia iliac nerve block for hip fractures,  as well demonstrate ultrasound guided caudal epidural injections to alleviate pain in and minimize dependency upon opiates, need for admission or surgery.

We understand that busy clinicians need practical, applicable information that they can use immediately in their practice. That’s why our program is designed to be flexible, with on-demand modules that can be completed at any time.  We have a special review for APPs (Nurse Practitioners, CRNAs and Physician Assistants)
